We believe change will happen when young people understand themselves, have a sense of community, connectedness and have the ability to make informed choices about their lives. Behaviour only changes when people are motivated to change and feel empowered to do so.
Bumb’INGOMSO wants to make this possible in three ways:
The Bumb’INGOMSO Leadership Network (BLN) for young women encourages you, the bright young leader to lead change in your home, school and community. This is done through fun, hands-on training programmes and ongoing support. #BeMore
Our Opportunity Hub and other BI initiatives connect you to opportunities and support structures to help you learn skills. It’s a place where you can meet like-minded young people, work with each other to affect change in your community. #BeMoreConnected
Your destiny is in your hands. The choices you make will impact your future. Bumb’INGOMSO encourages you to talk about your sexual health, attitudes and the challenges you face as young people in Buffalo City and how we can change this for the better. #BeMore
The Bumb’INGOMSO leadership network is a platform for young aspirant leaders in Buffalo City. Through this network, we envisage a platform that empowers young women to define and redefine their own paths and create change in their communities. The network has the following programmes:
Interactive peer platforms based in communities and schools where youth are are given access to information and personal development opportunities. A mentor that helps with the running of the club’s weekly meeting and activities supports each club.
An intensive motivational and practical programme that takes young women through a series of modules focusing on personal development and leadership.
Young women are challenged to use the tools and support gained through the programme to implement a community based project. Every young leader is provided with a mentor to support them during the implementation of their community project.
